JMS cattle are multi-trait selected, with great emphasis placed
on calving ease and udder quality. The cow herd base is made up
of outstanding genetics from the following herds:
RWJ, GA, Crooked Lake Ranch, FL, Rock Hollow Farm, FL, Briar
Creek Farms,GA, Pine Acre Farms, GA, BBL Polled Herefords, KY,
Anhinga Farms, FL, and Waggoner Farms, MS.
The JMS cow herd has been closed to outside females since 1987.
This allows us to be able to select and predict how our cattle will
look and perform, not only for calving ease, but fleshing and
milking ability as well. Pictured below are a few examples of
JMS females with over 60 years of continuous selection starting
with the R.W. Jones JR Herd in Leslie, GA
